How your writing turns clicks into clients

Being a good writer is a criminally underrated talent in the business world.


It attracts more clients, it shows people that you are a professional at what you do, and it is the single most important thing that convinces people to buy from you.


Once you’ve mastered it, it’s almost unfair on the rest of your competition.


There’s one major problem with this.


Most writing is terrible. It bores you to the verge of insanity. You’d rather watch grass grow than continue.


It’s a gargantuan issue. Wherever you go, whatever language you speak, the problem is the same!


Why is this?


There are several reasons. Most people haven’t been taught how to bring their writing to life. The school system doesn’t teach you this either.


We could deliberate on the “why” for hours. 


It is more important to focus on the “what”. 


What can you do to avoid rambling your customers to sleep?


In this blog, I am going to tell you the tips and tricks I use when writing anything - blog posts, social media posts, emails and much more.

The fastest way to get people to read your stuff.


The most important tip I can give you is this - you have to give the reader a reason to continue.


What’s the best way to do this?


Tip #1 You have to make it easy to read


Imagine looking at a website for the first time and seeing a concrete block of text.

You have to go through ten pages of dense reading to get to the point.


99% of people will not bother to do this, and for good reason too.


Look at this article you’re reading right now. 


It looks a lot easier to read than a whole monologue, doesn’t it?


That’s because it’s been made easy to read. Short sentences. No jargon. Easy to understand.


Tip #2: The greasy slide.


Your writing should flow seamlessly from one section to the next.


The last thing you want is for your client to see a random jump between paragraphs. You've lost them as soon as they have to go back and re-read.


This is called the greasy slide test.


Your client should come to the end of your writing without even realising it.


This doesn’t mean chopping your sentences into baby-sized portions and treating your reader like a toddler.


But it must be good enough to hook the reader and keep them going.
